Wire Sculpture

​My parents refer to me affectionately as their "Lighthouse Baby", simply because I was "made" there, I spent the first few years of my life living with my parents and brother very remotely at two different lighthouses and finally came to settle in Helensville as a toddler. The Scott family have been living in Helensville for over 200 hundred years, so there is a very strong pull to always come and visit, especially since my parents still live in Helensville. I have always liked doing "crafts" however I only recently found "my" craft, I made small wire sculptures with a bit of mixed mediums here and there, such as wire mixed with Paper Mache clay, fabrics and cotton, but my focus is mostly on turning wire into something beautiful, my pieces are mostly inspired by nature with a bit of "querk" to it and most of all, there are no rules.
