Megan Paterson
Vintage Photography
LOCATION:
98 Mill Road Helensville |
Looking for a lockdown project led Kaukapakapa local Megan Paterson to starting up a vintage photo business. Drawn to the history of the area and with a background in interior design it seemed a natural fit and was also achievable while running a 60 acre farm amid other voluntary commitments. Keeping it local, the nostalgic collection of old images includes Muriwai, Karekare, Piha, Te Henga, Hobsonville, Riverhead and more, all of which have been digitally restored to Megan’s requirements by photographer Colin Lunt. The strength of the photos is in the stories they tell and the connections they make with people, connections which make it all worthwhile to Megan who says:
"I basically choose things that I like and hope that there’s also an appeal to someone else out there! Nothing makes me happier than someone telling me their story of an image I’ve chosen."
Megan will have her photos available at the Te Awaroa, Helensville Museum during Arts in the Ville.
