Originally from Argentina, Leda Daniel graduated form he University of Fine Arts In Buenos Aires and migrated to New Zealand with her kiwi husband in 1991.
Her art journey spans for over 30 years and has evolved from portraiture and landscapes to abstract art as well as using an extensive range of media from watercolours and acrylics, to inks, oils and resin.
Leda has participated of numerous group and solo exhibitions over the years and received several accolades for her work, the most recent at the Hibiscus and Bays Art Awards in Auckland where she received a merit award for her painting 'Perpectives'. Her work is held in collections as far afield as Russia, Israel, UK and USA as well as Australia, Argentina and New Zealand.
Her paintings use a bold colour palette that can be invigorating and soothing at the same time. Using predominantly epoxy resin, the art begins to make its own path in a process that she finds absolutely freeing. The complex process combines many layers of inks and pigments embedded in epoxy with detailed finishings made with brush. The result are vibrant abstracts with a glassy finish that burst with energy and calmness simultaneously.
