Jaine Rubine
Natural fibre weaving & collage
LOCATION:
Makers Market Hall, Helensville Primary |
Raised in Fiji, Jaine's artwork evolved to develop high-quality, contemporary Pacific Island craft for the tourist trade, teaching local women in villages as a means of supplementary income. On moving to New Zealand, Jaine introduced a flax/Fiji masi fusion into her work and
exhibited in several galleries over two years. During the following 10 years in Israel, she successfully embraced the challenge of using very different local natural materials and fibres. Recently, while living in Australia, Jaine studied Design for one year and a two-year Visual Art Diploma. To date, she has exhibited in several regional and international galleries. Jaine has just moved to live permanently in Helensville. |
