'A line of history' a sculpture by Jeff Thomson
The Helensville Museum and local sculptor Jeff Thomson are teaming up to present a new sculpture by Jeff for Arts in the Ville 2021. Made especially for the large grassed area at the museum and titled 'A line of History', it is Thomson's play on the quote by famous German/Swiss artist Paul Klee who said, "drawing is simply taking a line for a walk". Using his favoured material corrugated iron, Jeff is re visiting one of his works from the early 2000's and creating a large installation that will surprise and astound the viewer.
This promises to be one of the highlights of Arts in the Ville.
Also at the historic Courthouse, in the grounds of the Helensville Museum will be the Peggy Purl in your Community Knitting Group with displays of creative knitting, current projects and for those who want to have a go, knitting lessons.
The Museum grounds will be open from 10am til 4pm.
