Masters Rakau Toi was established in 2018 by Dean & Wilma Masters. A career shift in Deans life, lead him towards wanting to develop his own business. Just happened to be that his father-in-law was a very experienced woods craftsman. Joesph Boortman (father-in-law) has over 60 years of experience in the woodcrafts industry (veneer marquetry & cabinet making). Therefore, Dean has picked up skills from Joesph and they started developing products.  All of the products come out of a garage at the family home in the little town of Helensville (north-west of Auckland). As this is a family business, all the products are made with continual love.
