I have been a member of the Helensville community for 22 years. My current art is a culmination of my formal art education (MIT-Unitec), hand crafting, work and life experiences. I am working with glass using both traditional and new techniques, including copper foil and leadlight, and I have a focus on repurposing materials. My work consists of art pieces, objects to wear and décor for the home and garden, highlighting the beauty of the glass and its reflections onto our surroundings.
Art pieces using the characteristics and qualities of the glass - transparency, concealment, fragility, beauty, reflectiveness, strengths and weakness. The limit and the challenges that come with working with glass, similarly, represent the characteristics and challenges faced by humans walking through our world. |
