I have been part of the Helensville community for 24 years. My art practice brings together my formal art education at MIT-Unitec, handcrafting, work and life experiences. Working primarily with glass, I explore both traditional and contemporary techniques, including copper foil and lead work. My practice encompasses art pieces, wearable objects, and décor for the home and garden. I am inspired by glass’s transparency, fragility, strength, reflectiveness and ability to transform light and space. Repurposing and transforming materials is an important part of my work, allowing their history and character to contribute meaning and give them new life and purpose.
