South Head artist Because explores the beauty of imperfection and the unexpected. His paintings often begin by following the natural grain and patterns in plywood, allowing chance to play a part in where the work goes. Self-taught, Because draws on childhood memories of colouring and the freedom, confidence and curiosity of making art without worrying about getting it “right”.
Because had a show at the Helesnville Art Centre called 'Something Perfect and Something Unfinished' in 2025.
