Ann was born and raised in Wairoa and has lived near Helensville for over 30 years.
At the age of 10, her first water-colour was framed and hung in the School Staffroom until she left for College. Her first Art Tutor at Wairoa College was Rodney Wilson, later known as Dr. Rodney Wilson, who was a well known N.Z. Art Historian and museum professional.
Ann was a kindergarten teacher for over 35 years.  She left teaching in 2011 to follow her passion: painting – and ended up writing children’s stories instead.  One of her stories was published in 2015 in which Ann did all of her own illustrations in water-colours.  Her book will be on Sale in her Pop-Up Gallery and at Paper Plus. She was once nicknamed as a “Random, romantic, realist.”  So random sometimes that she’s never too sure of what she going to paint next – or what medium she’ll use.
